Every product available on our Site is intended strictly for laboratory research and analytical use. By passing our catalog attestation gate, placing an order, or otherwise obtaining any product from us, you acknowledge and agree that all materials are supplied solely for scientific research, laboratory experimentation, or analytical purposes — and for no other purpose. Our products are not intended for human or veterinary use of any kind, and are not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease.

What “Research Use Only” Means

Products labeled “Research Use Only” (RUO) are compounds manufactured and supplied exclusively for laboratory research and analytical purposes. They are not approved as drugs, biologics, dietary supplements, cosmetics, or medical devices. RUO materials are intended for:

• Laboratory research and experimentation
• In-vitro studies
• Analytical testing and validation
• Scientific investigation

RUO products must never be used for human or animal consumption, or for any clinical, diagnostic, cosmetic, or therapeutic purpose.

Regulatory Basis and Its Limits

Some RUO suppliers reference 21 CFR 809.10(c) — the FDA labeling regulation for in-vitro diagnostic products marked “For Research Use Only” — as the origin of RUO labeling convention. We note this for context, but our products are not in-vitro diagnostic devices, and referencing that regulation does not itself create a safe harbor or regulatory clearance for our products. The FDA has made clear that whether a product is genuinely for research use is a question of fact, evaluated from the totality of a seller's marketing, product content, and customer base — not a label alone. Our RUO classification rests on the actual nature of our marketing and sales practices, described throughout this policy, not on the words “Research Use Only” by themselves.

Prolific Peptides is a chemical supplier. We are not a compounding pharmacy under Section 503A of the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act, and not an outsourcing facility under Section 503B of that Act. Our products have not been evaluated by the FDA and are not approved to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease.

Customer Responsibilities

By passing our catalog attestation gate and by placing an order, you represent and warrant that:

• You are at least 21 years of age;
• You are a qualified researcher, laboratory professional, or institution capable of handling research compounds safely, or are purchasing on behalf of one;
• The products will be used solely for lawful laboratory research purposes;
• You understand the products are not for human or animal use of any kind;
• You will not resell, redistribute, repackage, or relabel any product to individual consumers or to any purchaser who has not independently satisfied Prolific Peptides' research-use verification requirements; and
• You will comply with all applicable local, state, and federal laws and regulations governing research compounds.

You assume full responsibility for the safe handling, storage, and disposal of all materials purchased from us.

No Dosing, Protocol, or Medical Guidance

We do not provide medical advice, and we do not make claims about the therapeutic benefit of any product. We do not provide dosing, titration, administration, or human- or animal-use protocols of any kind, under any circumstances — not on our website, not in customer support communications, and not on product labeling. Any storage or handling information we provide (for example, temperature ranges for lyophilized material) is factual laboratory guidance only and must not be interpreted as instructions for human or animal use. Information on our Site is provided for research and educational reference only, and should not be interpreted as medical advice, a treatment recommendation, or dosage guidance.

If we sell bacteriostatic water, sterile water, or other reconstitution solvents, we offer them as general laboratory reagents. We do not market, bundle, or cross-sell any solvent as a pairing with a specific peptide product, and product pages, checkout flows, and marketing communications should not present the two as intended for combined use. FDA has cited exactly this kind of pairing — a peptide requiring reconstitution offered alongside a reconstitution solvent — as evidence that a seller intends its products for injection and therefore for human use. Any internal decision to offer bundles or “starter kits” combining a peptide with a solvent should be reviewed for this reason before it's implemented.

Product Handling and Safety

Research compounds must be handled with appropriate laboratory safety precautions, including protective equipment, proper storage and handling procedures, and compliance with your own institution's laboratory protocols and applicable chemical safety guidelines. Every shipment includes a lot-specific Certificate of Analysis documenting identity and purity. Improper handling or use outside a legitimate laboratory research setting is strictly prohibited and may pose health and safety risks for which you are solely responsible, as described in our Terms of Service.

Right to Refuse or Cancel Orders

We reserve the right to refuse, limit, suspend, or cancel any order or account — before or after shipment — that we reasonably believe is not for legitimate research use. This includes, without limitation, orders accompanied by requests for dosing or administration guidance, orders that otherwise suggest an intended human or animal use, and orders where we cannot verify the attestations described in Section 4. This right is in addition to, and does not limit, our rights under our Terms of Service.

Limitation of Liability

We are not liable for any damages, injuries, or losses resulting from misuse of our products, use outside a legitimate research environment, failure to follow proper laboratory procedures, or violation of applicable law. All products are sold “as is” for research purposes only, as further described in our Terms of Service.

Policy Updates

We may update this Research Use Only Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or legal requirements. We will post the updated policy here with a revised “Last Updated” date. Continued use of our Site after a change is posted constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
